What do young people bring to challenging situations?
As professionals, we must think carefully about what young people bring to challenging situations in order to get the best outcomes possible.
We need to be aware of the physical processes that are going on in a young person’s brain in order to assess and de-escalate behaviour. Without an understanding of the different ways that a young person processes information and emotions, we can react in ways which might make challenging behaviour worse.
